Hello to all my Bloggie friends, hope you are all well! So as I sit here writing this post it dawned on me that my 1 year Blogaversary is in only 21 day's!! I just can't believe it, where has the time gone?? Just one year ago I logged onto my computer to find some video's on how to use my new Cricut Expression that I had received for my birthday just a few month's before. As I was looking I came accross soooooo many wonderful blogs with sooooooo much information. In just a few moments I thought to myself, hey why don't I start my own blog showcasing my crafty creations??? I knew that I was not the greatest crafter but I also was not that terrible, after all crafting is meant to be an outlet to express your creativity and usually your best work (at least mine) come from mistakes!! Hence The Craftin Mama!! I am so glad I took that leap of faith and put my fears aside. Over the past year I have met sooooo many wonderful new crafty friends near and far as well as learning soo many new and wonderful techniques!! I am astonished by how many people have become a follower of my blog, now I know that 180ish is not that much but I never though that I would hit a 100!! So before I bore you all too death let me say this....

Getting Cricky "Argh Matey" Simply Sunday Challenge

Hello my Wonderful Bloggie friends, hope you find yourself well!! I want to welcome you all to the Getting Cricky "Argh Matey" Simply Sunday Challenge. I think it is quite obvious what the theme is this week, anything pirate or fish related so this is what I came up with!!

I cut the Beautiful Fish from the Pagoda Cricut Cartridge @ 4". I embossed the base using my Bubbles folder and my Cuttlebug, then I used the negative image of my cut to ink a shadow on my base which is some old Blissful Blue Stampin up paper, I then layered on my cut image. It really looks like a shadow!! I stamped my sentiment using my "Pirate Tales and Fish Scales" stamp set from K. Andrew Designs.

So for today's project I used the "Amazing You" K. Andrew Design stamp set!! I really hope that Kristal loves it and I hope you do too!!

I used 4 toilet paper rolls, cordinating papers, K. Andrew Design stamps "Amazing You", ribbon and K & Co. glittery flowers!! I first painted the tubes with green acrylic paint and then attached my papers, brads, sentiment and flowers. I cut tag's to go inside the tube for photos with room on the other side for journaling!!

I have to thank my wonderful Getting Cricky sister for showing me how to make the Toilet Paper mini album, so FAITH FREEMAN, THANK YOU!! You inspire me every day, not just with your projects but with your stregnth, courage and knowledge! You have taught me soo much!! Luv ya mama!!

Getting Cricky Simply Sunday "Wedding Bells are Ringing" & Day 1 of Pre-Hop Week

Happy Sunday to all of my Bloggie friends!! I hope the day finds you well!! Once again it is Simply Sunday Challenge time over at Getting Cricky and the start of Getting Cricky's Pre-Hop week leading up to the Blog Hop on Friday!! For this SS Challenge the group was given "Wedding Bells are Ringing" as the theme. For the Pre-Hop week we were told to pick one Cricut Cartridge or SVG file and use it all week long to create our projects and we are to use any of the K. Andrew Design stamps on our projects all week long to show just how versatile they really are!! So with that being said, let me introduce you to the "Create a Critter" Cricut Cartridge!!

I soooooo love this cartridge, there are just too many fun cuts on it!!

Hello Bloggie friends, hope you all find yourselves well!! I know it's been a while since I have actually posted a project (well since the promo week/blog hop week last month) so I though I would put something up!! I have been super busy getting ready for Getting Cricky's upcoming promo week/blog hop. It begins on Sunday 2/12 which is also the Simply Sunday Callenge, and runs through to Friday 2/17 ending with the Getting Cricky Blog Hop, so needless to say I have been working hard!! Please be sure to come back every day next week to see what projects I have made to share with you everyday! We were asked to use just one Cricut Cartridge or SVG file for the whole week and then we were able to use any of Kristal's stamps, this is to show how versatile her stamps really are!!

Anyway for the quick card today. I recently attended my local Scrapbook stores 6th Anniversary celebration. They had great sales, munchies and make and takes!! I soooo loved the one make and take that I figured I would incorporate it into one of my cards!!

So here it is:

The tag was embossed using Tim Holtz's "Love" embossing folder.

The crystalized effect on the Heart was made by using Stickles "Rock Candy".

Kisses came from K. Andrew Design "Winter Wishes" stamp set.

It helps me to know that he is in a better place, free of pain, playing as happily as when he was well.

Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Cahllenge "Lets Paint the town Red"

Welcome to another Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge!! This weeks challenge was "Fantasy Land". I have to tell you that this was a tough one for me, I usually don't do many fantasy/cartoony type projects even though I have a few cartridges with cartoon type images!! I asked my DT sisters to help me out with some ideas and as usual, when you ask my group for help they step right up!! Shawn Mosch is always full of such wonderful ideas and is sooooo creative. She asked what carts I had and she just started spitting out ideas. My project this week evolved from one of her ideas!!

I used my Imagine to print out the backround paper, cut the clouds and the images. I used one of my dies to cut the banner that holds the sentiment. I used my "Fashionable Friends" stamp set from K. Andrew.

Winter Wishes

I used Stampin Up paper as my base and backround paper layered onto some Valentine paper I had in my stash!! I inked the edges and stamped the backround with Stampin Up's Script backround stamp then I added all kinds of buttons, pearls and bling to fill in the spaces!! I added my sentiment with a brad on each side.

Getting Cricky Promo Week day 5 / lead up to Friday's Blog Hop!!!

Sorry for the delay!!! Without further ado...Promo Week day 5's project is a sweet wall or door hanging!

I used 2 wooden heart shapes, some tule, pink paint for the base of the larger heart along with crackle. The smaller heart is coated in pink Martha Stewart micro beads, crystal glaze and bling. I added a tag for the sentiment and a tule loop to hang from!!

I have been blessed to be Mommy to 3 of the most wonderful, smart and beautiful children in the world!! And God truely blessed me with the most wonderful Husband in the world. I did this layout so I could have them all together to see whenever I want.

Okay so here is day 2 of the Promo Week. Again, the K. Andrew stamp set that I chose to use this week is Winter Wishes. I created this card using some craft cardstock as the base and I cut the 3 squares with the images out of K & Co.'s Life's a Journey Stamp Collection 12" x 12" cardstock. I tore 3 different pattterned papers, inked the edges and placed them down as part of the base. I added some Mulberry paper also in the backround. Then some pearls, buttons and bling. Stamped my sentiment and...Violla!!

We are hosting a Promo week to lead up to our "U R So Sweet" Blog hop this Friday, 1/20. So let me try to explain what is going on, everyone signed up, if they wanted to, to work with just one of Kristal's stamp sets all week, this means that whichever set you chose, from the many of Kristal's stamps, you had to make Valentine themed projects with just that one set everyday all week long up to the Blog Hop on Friday!!!! Crazy I say! I really was not sure if I could pull it off but that was the purpose of the challenge that was presented to us, to see if you could use just one set, be creative and make it work!! I actually came up 6 different projects. I chose the Winter Wishes set. Once I sat and really studied the set the ideas just kept on coming!! Please take note that today is also the Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge, the theme this week is Let it Snow/use Embossing so here is what I came up with, a Valentine/Let it Snow themed card. I hope you like it!

Added a little bling to the snowflake!

I used the Winter Wishes stamp set of course, heat embossed the snowflakes in white all over the backround, heat embosssed the large snowflake, stamped, colored and cut out the cute little Puppy (Stampin Up oldie but goddie) and that's it.

"Love ya My Crafty Friend"!!

I know it's been a while since I have posted a project and I do appologize!! Today I have a quick card to show you. I made this card for a very dear crafty friend, I hope she likes it!!

I bought a new Sizzix die (the flower) and wanted to try it out!! Used my K. Andrew stamps, "Love ya" from Coffee and Tea for you and me set and the "My Crafty Friend" from the Crafty Friends stamp set. I used craft cardstock for the base and Paper Layerz for the blue and green and some bakers twine.

Simple and to the point!!

"Happy New Year" Simply Sunday Challenge

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

Well I have to say that I just cannot believe that it is January 1st 2012!! Where has this last year gone?? I feel like the days just fly by!! My kids are getting bigger and older and my husband and I...well we are just getting older!!! Many wonderful things have happened this last year for me like the start of my blog, meeting many wonderful bloggers and becoming friends with alot of them. Also becoming part of Kristal Andrew's wonderful Design Team, the Getting Cricky family, a family of such wonderfully crafty and caring women that I am just so happy to have ever met!! On that note, it is that time of the month again, it's Simply Sunday Challenge time and this weeks theme is "It's a Celebration"!! As always this is up to your interpretation so here is mine!

I used Gold and Black paper from Stampin up (the Gold I have had forever so I am not sure if they even still carry it). I cut slits into strips of paper the measure 3", 4" and 5", I then just wrapped them around a wooden skewer. I used my Gypsy for the large 2012 sign, just welded the 2012 into the tag shape and cut it at 5 1/2". I cut another tag shape at 3" and an oval at 2" and stamped and embossed the ready...set...Party using K. Andrew stamps from the Crafty Friends set and the Pirate Tales and Fish Scales set. Added some Bling to the two signs and just stuck into a vase for last nights festivities!!!

I want to take a minute to Thank all of my wonderful followers. My blog would be nothing without you!!! I am so blessed to be a part of such a wonderful world of crafty women, some I know in person and many I just know from online, either way I love you all!!! I wish you all a new year full of Love, Prosperity, Health and God's Blessings!!

Winter Wishes

I cut 3" circles on my Imagine, 8 total, alternating a red and a green pattern on each circle. I then scored them in half, folded and used a Bone folder to get a crisp fold. I attached all the circles together with the gold cording inbetween and inked the edges with Tim Holtz Fired Brick. Stamped all the little snow flakes, added the beads and tag!!

It's Monday!!!

Hello all my Bloggie friends, I hope you are all doing well!! I don't know about you but I just cannot believe that it's December already!! 20 more day's till Christmas...HUH!!! I guess that is why I have been sooo busy and haven't really posted a project in a few days!!

I purchased the Cricut Imagine on Black Friday (for $187 at Wal Mart) Whooo Hooo...and this was one of the first cuts I made on it. I used my "Coffee and Tea for you and me" and "Winter Wishes" stamp sets from K. Andrew Design, some craft cardstock for the base and the pattern is from one of the winter packs by My Minds Eye.

I will have more Imagine projects for you as I get time to sit down and play with it!! I still have a ton to learn!!

"Give Thanks" Getting Cricky Simply Sunday Challenge

It's Simply Sunday challenge time again!! This week we are Giving Thanks. I was having a major creative blog while working on this card so i reached out to my wonderful Getting Cricky Design Team for some help and let me tell you, they were full of so many great idea's. It is so amazing being a part of a team that is always there if you need them. I am truely Blessed to have them to turn to! I also want to thank Kristal for putting together such a wonderful, creative group of women, whithout Kristal we wouldn't have this terrific team!!

Okay, so onto my card. Both cards were made using backround paper from My Minds Eye-Wonderful Winter Pad, the base cards are just Craft cardstock that I purchaced at A.C. Moore and Simply Sage from Stampin Up. The ornaments and Santa are dimmentional stickers from a Christmas sticker sampler by Studio 112. I inked the edges and stamped the sentiments using StazOn Jet Black. I wanted to show how you can use the same backround paper and make it look different!

"Holiday Greetings"

Well, I finally had some time to craft this week and everytime I sat down to start creating Christmas kept popping into my head!! I get soooo excited knowing that Christmas is around the corner!! "Hoot-alicious" Tuesday

It's a "Hoot-alicious" Tuesday here at The Craftin Mama. I am so thankful to be able to do what I do! Not only do I have a wonderful Husband and family, I get to create!!

I recently purchased the "Hoot n Holler" Cricut Light cart...OMG...this cart is tooo cute and so today's card was made using it.!!

Can you see the bling on her ear's and hand??

I cut her at 3" and the branch at 3 1/2" (the branch had an extra leaf but I cut it off to fit my card) using Megan Elizabeth's Paper Layerz...I love this paper, it cuts like butter!! The backround is paper from the Provo Craft Celebrations paper pack andeverything is layered onto craft cardstock. I used my "Owly Hoo" stamp set from K. Andrew Designs and stamped the "Hoot-alicious!".

Happy Sunday everyone!! Hope you are enjoying another wonderful day in this thing we call life!! Today's cahllenge was to create a project with hot beverage theme: coffee, tea, hot chocolate etc... Because I am awaiting an order from Kristal that has my "Coffee & Tea for You and Me" in it I had to be creative with what stamps I already own, so I decided to use the "Warm" and the "delightful" from Winter Wishes stamp set and the "&" from Fall-o-ween" stamp set!!

I LOVE Kristal's stamps because they are soooo versatile!! You can mix and match words or phrases from any of her set's!! Okay, so for today's project I didn't make a card or a layout, instead I decided to make ahhhhh.....wait for it....ready.....Washer necklaces!!! Ohhhh...I just love the way these came out and can you say EASY??!! Here check it out for yourself.

I know these are not the best photo's and it's hard to see the glittler but trust me they shimmer so nicely!!

All you need to make these great necklaces are: really big washers, scrapbook paper (any pattern you choose), Mod Podge, Glassy Accents, glitter, ribbon and of course K.Andrew Design stamps!!

Okay, so you start by picking whatever paper strikes your fancy, you then trace the washer on the back side of the paper (so you don't have pencil marks on the front of the paper), then you cut out the washer shape and the hole in the middle, add any stamped images if you desire. Add Mod Podge to the flat side of the washer (one side is smoother and the edges are rounded, this is the side that will sit on your body) and attach the paper to the washer's unfinished/flat side. Once the glue/Mod Podge is dry you apply the Glossy Accent on top and sprinkle with a little bit of glitter. Let is dry for a few hours, then cut some ribbon and loop it through the hole in the washer. Voila...You have a simple, inexpensive and good looking necklace!!

Okay, so I know that I said that I didn't have a card or layout for you to today but I fibbed!! While waiting for the Glossy Accent to dry on my necklaces I put together a quick little card!!

"Love Life"

Hapy Saturday everyone!! Whewww...what a long week and then I wake up to SNOW!! Not ready for that at all!! Anyway, again today, I want to share a card that I made using K. Andrew Design stamps, "Owly-Hoo" to be exact!! (CLICK HERE TO CHECK THEM ALL OUT) This stamp set is so versatile and can be used for making cards for any occasion, really they can be used for any craft!!

I am not sure what paper stack I used but I do know that I love the patern on the backround!! I cut the tree at 3 1/2" from the Straight from the Nest Cricut Cartridge. I added some brown ribbon and my sentiment.

"Black, Orange and....."

So this weeks Simply Sunday Challenge was Black, Orange and any one other color of your choice! I have been wanting to try to make paper flowers and just the other day watched a tutorial on the ones I made for this challenge. I really love the way they came out, I hope you do too!!

All you do is just take strips of paper, add a strip of double sided tape to one edge, the thinner the better. Cut slits all the way accross the strip from one end to the other and then roll it up. Once you open and flatten the flower you can cut into some of the petals to add dimension.

I stamped my sentiment using the "Fall-o-ween" stamp set from K. Andrew Design.

I added some other little flowers that I made out of Candi's (the embelishment, not the kind you eat!) and some buttons.

So for this Hop I decided to use my "Fall-o-ween" stamp set and "Owly-Hoo". This is what I came up with, enjoy!!

I used craft cardstock for the backround of my Layout, the cute little Turkey is cut from the Create a Critter cart on Paper Layerz by Megan Elizabeth (awesome stuff, click here to learn more) I stamped my sentiment on the leaf, rounded the corners, added some ribbon that I got yesterday for .29 cents on clearance at Michaels, and some leaf stickers and...shabam..."Happy Fall ya'll".

Owl is cut from "Straight from the nest" Cricut cart. at 2 1/4", I tore scrap pieces of Paper Layerz and inked with chocolate chip Stampin Up ink, added blue googly eyes and stamped the sentiment using "Owly-Hoo"!!

"Link Up Love Party" with K. Andreww, Anything Halloween

Happy Tuesday all!! It's time to "Link up some Love" again. This weeks theme is Anything Halloween being that Halloween is still about 2 weeks away!! So I decided to make treat bags for my little guy's pre-school class. I made the candy man (CLICK HERE) that Kristal did a tutorial on a few weeks ago along with a pencil and little pad, some chocolates, a blower and a Halloween straw! I think that they came out great, what do you think??

I only had to make 8 so I decided to use various Halloween papers as the toppers. I punched the one edge with the Martha Stewart "Drippy Goo" punch. I used a Sizzix die to cut the Ghost, two tag punchesn in two different sizes for the tag. I used Candi's and a brag to attach to the tag over the ribbon that I added and of course I stamped the "BOO too you!!" using my "Fall-o-ween" stamp set from K. Andrew Designs!

Wonderful Weekend with Megan Elizabeth and family!!

I want to thank Megan from Above Rubies Studio and her family for a great weekend!! We got to hang out and just have fun!! Had a great breakfast this morning with a great talk, then a little shopping! Once we got back to her house we did a little crafting! Getting Cricky "Simply Sunday Challenge" Halloween Treats Holders & Things!!

Welcome to the Getting Cricky "Simply Sunday Challenge"!! This weeks challenge is HALLOWEEN projects , A Halloween CANDY HOLDER !! Wither it be a BAG, BOX , DECORATED PILLOW CASE , Anything that your child could use to carry that Halloween candy!! or even a decoration for Halloween ..

This is what I came up with:

This little monster bag looks like he has pony tails!! Heheheh...

Hershey bars...Yummmm!!!

I created the little monster bag using the Mini Monsters Cricut cartridge, cut at fit to page which came out to 5 3/4". The wrappers were made out of toilet paper rolls covered in Halloween paper!! I cut the tags at 2" and 1 3/4". Stamped the sentiment using K. Andrew Designs "Fall-o-ween" stamp, then added the ribbon!! Easy Peasy!!

You have no idea how hard it was for me to make these...Hehehe..everyone in my house wanted to eat the candy bars!!! Now they will just have to wait!! BWHAHAHA.....

Hello Bloggie friends, just a quick little card I whipped up!! I have been looking at my K. Andrew Design stamp sets trying to thing of all the different sayings I could make with them. So the other night this came to me!! I get these ideas at the weirdest times of day, usually when it's time to go to bed.

I used various papers including Stampin up along with my PK stamps for her eyes and Fall-o-ween by K. Andrew Designs for the sentiment! Added a little pink chalk to her cheeks and white to her eye, drew on a mouth, stitched her Candy Corn costume and there you have it.

Hello Bloggie friends, today I want to share a card I made for a very dear friend of mine. Just recently she found out that she has inoperable Cancer tumors, one on her brain and the other on her spine . I will never forget the day she called me to tell me. At first I did not know what she was trying to tell me! I thought she was talking about someone else! She was so upbeat and positive, telling me that she was okay and that she was going to beat this disease!! I put this card together for her.

I used my new Martha Stewart Punch all over the Page Daisy punch along with various papers and of course my K. Andrew Design stamps, Amazing You and Mini Sympathetic Sayings.

I ask that you all pray for my friend to have the strength to fight and win this battle that she faces. God Bless you all.

Spooky...Spooky...Spooky

Today I have to give props to Brittan P. of the Above Rubies Studio Design Team. This past week, for the Tuesday Tutorial, she demonstrated how to make a card using Paper Layerz! She explained how you don't just have to use it just for cuts. I fell in love with the card that she made so I decided that I would try my hand at it and put my own spin on it!! Hope you like it!!

I did not use Paper Layers but tried to imitate the colors somewhat! She had given us the measurements she used on her Gypsy but I did not feel like using my Gypsy so I just used round about measurements on my Expression! I ran my blue paper through the D'vine Swirls embossing folder and the Grey through the Mesh folder! I inked all my edges and Stamped my Spooky...Spooky...Spooky sentiment using the Fall-o-ween Stamps by K. Andrew Designs.

These wooden mini books are great!! You can finish them however you want. You can paint them, stain them, crackle paint them, add paper or ink to them. They can be embossed and stamped. The possibilities are endless. Once you have decided what you want as your base, you can then decorate them like any other mini book on the market. As you can see above, I added papers (Eco Park), tapes, grommets, some bling, Stickles, paper flowers and ribbon, chipboard, I even stamped my favorite sentiments made by K. Andrew Designs on my pages!!

Happy Happy Hump Day!!

Hello to all my crafty friends!! Hope your having a Happy Happy Hump Day!! Today I want to show you the quick little card I made this past weekend for my niece for her 8th birthday. She's a little Tom Boy and loves all the things little boys like! She had a rock climbing party with all her friends but in the past she has had a reptile party. There is a company in our area that brings all kinds of reptiles, bugs and snakes!!! Being that she loves all of those types of things I knew that a card with a snake on it wouldn't bother her at all, as a matter of fact she loved it!! So here is the "You go Girl" card that I made for her.

This snake is soo cute and I just love how it pop's on the stripped backround!

I used DCWV and Stampin up paper, the Create a Critter Cricut cartridge to cut the snake @ 3", some ribbon and for the sentiment I used my favorite stamps Fashionable Friends by K. Andrew Designs!!

"Fall Treat's" Simply Sunday Challenge

Well it's Sunday again and you know what that means!! It's "Simply Sunday" Challenge time again over at Getting Cricky!! This week's theme is Fall Treat's. This one stumped me a bit and I was really not sure what I was going to do!! I was talking to my hubby the other day about the challenge and told him that I did not know what I was going to do and before I knew it he, was thinking out loud and giving me a bunch of idea's!! He is so cute my man, when I woke up yesterday he had 2 empty baby food containers on the counter, I asked what they were for, how come he didn't throw them out and he told me that he saved them for me for my challenge, he told me that I could turn them into a coffin and have worm's crawling out of it or turn it into a treasure chest with candy in it!! I just love the way men think!! He has such a good heart and was really trying to help me. Anyway, even though he had some really great idea's I did not use the containers and decided to take a simpler route and make a card and a layout.

First is my card: SWEET & FUN

I made this card using the Mini Monsters Cricut Cart. The Pumpkin is cut at 3 1/2" and his hat is at

3 1/4 ". I used Stampin up paper, my new Martha Stewart Drippy Goo edge punch, some Halloween paper and ribbon and to finish off the card I used K.Andrew Design Fall-o-ween stamp set. Kristal donates $1.00 of every stamp set she sell to it's own charity, for the Fall-o-ween set it goes to Adopt a Classroom. Kristal took a long time to research all the different charities out there and she chose ones that she hold's very dear to her heart.

Now here is the Layout: TRICK OR TREAT!!

For the background I used a paper that I found at Target, the background to the photo frames are from DCWV. The Cauldron was cut from the Mini Monsters Cricut Cart at 4" and the sentiment again come from K. Andrew Designs Fall-o-ween stamp set. I wanted to have a little fun so I used my Hubby's idea and added some Gummie worms just to take the photo's!! Oh yeah, lets not forget the Stickles on the bubbles!!

"Batty Halloween" Layout!

Hello to all my Bloggie friends, hope this day finds you well!! I had a few minutes to be in my crafting room yesterday which gave me the oppertunity to finish a LO that I have been working on!! Very simple, not too many color's. I recently went to my local Dollar Store and found a bucket of foam Halloween stickers and thought to myself, "Can I do anything with these that won't look tacky?". So I sat at my workspace and thought for a little while, went through the container to see what shapes were inside and then decided to use all the Bats and 1 Flying witch, then I cut the fence from Mini Monsters Cricut cart 2 1/2" and the Tree (can't remember which cart I used). I also used my Stampin up mister to add the spooky purple sky affect!!

I will eventually add a photo in the black square.
(I have to wait untill Halloween to get an updated photo)

My sentiment is from K. Andrew Designs Fall-o-ween stamp set.
